Shah Rukh Khan is an actor par excellence. He gave back to back hits in 2023 crowning himself as box office king of Bollywood. However the ride was not easy as King Khan has had his share of failures. Shah Rukh recently attended the Global Freight Summit in Dubai on Tuesday when he talked about failures and shared a motivating message for everyone.
Shah Rukh Khan on dealing with failures
Talking about how once can tackle failures, SRK shares, “When you fail, you should not believe that your product or service or job went wrong. Maybe you just misunderstood the ecosystem you were working in. You have to understand how people are reacting. If I cannot elicit an emotion from the people I cater to, then my product is not going to work how wonderful it may be”.
Asked if he is critical of his work, Shah Rukh Khan admitted positively, “I am. And I hate feeling this and then I cry a lot in my bathroom. I do not show it to anyone. You have to believe that the world is not against you. Your film did not go wrong because of you or because the world is conspiring against you. You have to believe that you made it badly. Then you have to move on. There are moments of despair, but there are moments where you say ‘Shut up, now get up and get on with it.’
He went on to add, “The world is not against you. Life moves on. I think if you can imagine yourself as an ant; me a very good-looking ant (smiles) but nevertheless an ant! Sometimes the wind takes you away… the wind is not working against you. It is just doing what it does. Life does what it does. You can’t start blaming life for the failure.”
SRK, who was last seen in director Rajkumar Hirani’s comedy drama Dunki (2023), is currently working in Sujoy Ghosh’s King. He will share the screen with his daughter Suhana Khan.
